I just had to buy it....
Say hello to yet another Penguin book (sorry), but I saw it the other day and even though I already have a copy of this novel (It is, after all, one of my all time favourite classics), I just had to buy it because I loved the cover.
Thought you'd like to know.

The Nice vs The Damned Awful
Exhibit A: ...Nasty.
Here we have a hideous book that my brother ordered off of amazon for me for my project because I was being too lazy to do my own account...
I guess it's my own fault that I said "Get the cheapest", but this thing wasn't particularly cheap (£3, yes, but £3 is £3) - And if Penguin can do rather nice looking book designs for £2, then I'm sorry but money is not an excuse!
(... and to top it all off this book was produced in Microsoft Word, I swear - I recognise those conspicuous page numbers. Plus the type goes all the way in to the spine, so you have to bend it back on itself to read the left end of the lines)
Exhibit B: Nice
Here is a lovely penguin popular classics - for all the bargain/scrooge bookworms.
£2? Bargain.
(Plus Hamlet is my favourite Shakey play)

On my Bookshelf...
Along with a load of naval history novels and general classical literature, here is a list of Graphics-related publications sat in my collection of books that people might find useful:
Getting it Right with Type, Victoria Squire
Visible Signs, David Crow (I believe I saw this in the library, if anyone's interested) (comes with stickers!?)
Little Book of Big Ideas Graphic Design, Anna Gerber (useful easy reference to famous/influencial graphic designers from Jules Cheret to Jamie Reid)
How to be a Grpahic Designer without losing your Soul, Adrian Shaughnessy (includes interviwes and things from famous designers such as Sagmeister, Brody, et al.)
Graphis Typography 1
D&AD Student Annuals and D&AD Annuals I highly recommend these - practically indispensible, even if you just manage to collect a few for reference and ideas.
