Along with a load of naval history novels and general classical literature, here is a list of Graphics-related publications sat in my collection of books that people might find useful:
Getting it Right with Type, Victoria Squire
Visible Signs, David Crow (I believe I saw this in the library, if anyone's interested) (comes with stickers!?)
Little Book of Big Ideas Graphic Design, Anna Gerber (useful easy reference to famous/influencial graphic designers from Jules Cheret to Jamie Reid)
How to be a Grpahic Designer without losing your Soul, Adrian Shaughnessy (includes interviwes and things from famous designers such as Sagmeister, Brody, et al.)
Graphis Typography 1
D&AD Student Annuals and D&AD Annuals I highly recommend these - practically indispensible, even if you just manage to collect a few for reference and ideas.

Some advertising agencies I know...
I'm posting stuff.....whether or not anyone will find this stuff remotely useful, I do not know.

(weird rabbit on this advertising agency's website ^^)
I went here the last Friday and their boss grilled me O_O not good. But it was only for a laugh anyway, so it's all fine. Apparently he's as bad as interviewers get... My dad owes me a tenner if I come across an interviewer who is worse :D So if this is false information, 1. It is unintentionally so. 2. Don't blame me. and 3. I'm 10 quid better off as a result.
